Hello Professor and class
My name is xxx and I am glad to be part of this class. Over the years and throughout my career, I have also wanted to be a business owner. I have in the past served in several capacities but in businesses owned by other people. I have gained substantial knowledge and based on the experience, I can say that some managers have not treated employees in the right way. I have a strong belief that this course will prepare me and instill in me knowledge on how well to treat everyone in the workplace. I am curious to learn things that I do not know. I also look forward to interacting with other students and also learn from their experiences and develop new relationships.
Unethical behavior is practices that one engages in but are morally wrong. These are practices that as much as they might not be illegal, they are not accepted by society. In business, there are practices that are legal but are morally wrong and some people in the organization might feel offended when someone does them. On the other hand, unprofessional behavior is that which is not allowed in a particular line of work. In most cases, every organization has their own policies that everyone is expected to follow. Some of these policies might also be tied to some laws and regulations formulated by the government. It is therefore expected that all individuals in the organizations follow the policies that have been put in place.
Personal Narrative
I have worked for my organization for quite some time now and over the years, I have had the privilege to interact with many employees and management. There are periods where I have worked with great people and other times I have experienced difficulties working with some people. I must point out that there are people that seek employment for financial purposes but are never passionate about what they do. I think this was the same case for a manager that was posted briefly to my organization as part of an exchange program. From the moment he reported, he had a difficult time interacting with the employees in our department. Naturally, all employees have issues that face them whether at work or back at home. As a manager, it is important to understand these employees in order to know how to treat them.
There was a case where one of our employees had a sick parent back at home. Being the sole caregiver, he had to make arrangements for the parent to be taken to a medical facility. As a result of his actions, he was late for work. He came an hour later, obviously tired and thoughtful as a result of the situation that he was going through. Everyone was of the opinion that he be given an off day so that he could attend to his sick parent. Suggestions were made but the manager was strict about performance and work attendance. When other employees insisted, he obliged but he insisted that the day off pay will be deducted from his pay. He clearly stated that he would be marked as absent.
As much as the main objectives of the organization are to perform and everyone is expected to play an active role in ensuring that this performance is guaranteed, it was not ethical to treat the employee the way he was treated in this case. I am of the opinion that the manager should have understood his scenario and allowed him time off in order to sort his issues. The employee explained himself clearly and provided documents to back up his explanations, but the manager could hear none of it. From his point of view, he was following instructions that had been given to him with regards to attendance by the higher office, but ethically, I am of the opinion that he was wrong. He should have put himself in the shoes of the employees and acknowledge that the same scenario could have happened to him.

Whenever there is a case before a court of law it is important that the presiding judge offers a verdict that is in line with the law regardless of all other factors. The law should remain the paramount factor of consideration when offering Justice. The concept of utilitarian comes in play because it focuses on empowering happiness and removing any unhappiness. When someone brings a case before a court of law they expect that they will receive their Justice in accordance with the law. It is a fact that all the parties want to win the case. It is therefore important for the judge to offer judgement based on the facts that have been presented by both sides. The judge should remain ethical and should exhibit high levels of morality. It should not be shown like the judge is leaning towards one side. The goal is to ensure that everybody receives a verdict that makes them content. When talking about libertarian it basically focuses on liberty. This theory states that people should be given more freedom and the government should have less control over people. In such case it is important for people to remain socially responsible and to respect the rights of other people. In any society this is a difficult goal to achieve. Any society comprises of different people with different characteristics. It is important for the government to come up with the rules that will help govern these people. This is why it is important to have a judiciary in place so as to offer Justice to those underprivileged. It is morally wrong for any person to go unpunished even if they come in conflict with the rights of other people. .

I will have the privilege to the property secured by the government such that I can choose any private property and take the ownership as indicated by the necessity. As a result of an industrialist economy, many organizations will be in the market. This way, I will see the presence of many organizations. These capitalism features will aid me in searching for high profits gain and perform exercises as needs are. This will help me identify characteristics of capitalism as market having various organizations, enthusiasm to gain the greatest profit, elevated levels of rivalry, and ownership rights to the property. Due to the accessibility of options in the market and the presence of organization and rivalry, I will confront charming clients' challenges. Capitalism is fair to small-business owners and corporations since organizations get the greatest level of clients' fulfilment by giving items as indicated by their necessities and tastes. This will empower these organizations to make high profits and boost deals. Similarly, less obstruction of government rules and guidelines, makes capitalism profoundly profitable and simple to work for the organizations. Company's factor these competing expectations by practicing safety at the design stage. Products safety priorities are made at the design stage. At this stage, hazards are identified; consumer′s foreseeable uses and misuses of the product are identified. Consumer product safety commission is consulted for best practices and guidance to ensure the products meet and exceed expectations of the commission's product quality standards. For a product to be of quality to consumers, a firm should draft product specifications detailing materials used to make the product. This is meant to ensure consumers are protected from death or injuries from low-quality products. When supplying the products, Companies should use reliable suppliers by including contractual provisions that specify product adherence to safety requirements. Companies strive to produce quality products that meet the required standards by the consumer product safety commission. Therefore, product quality is balanced against business profit through improving product quality for better product performance. For companies to attract consumers, should continually monitor the quality of the product. Companies hold consumers responsible for safe and effective use of products by playing their role of following safety requirements when manufacturing products, adhering to safety requirements, specifying how the product should be used. If consumer misuses the product, then the company is not held responsible. .

Businesses should focus more than making profits; they should environmental impact to society and the well-being of what surround us. It is very important for businesses to have CSR plan for sustainability purposes, this will contribute health structure within which it operates leading a better environment in which the business can succeed (Cowan, 2020). In addition having a CSR plans reduces the production cost in businesses because companies will depend more on natural resources there by cutting the rising cost of production due to climate change.
Finally, I agree with my classmate Carolyn opinion that companies should implement CSR plan. However, this should not be a matter of choice but rather regulations should be enacted to force companies to be environmentally supportive and compliant. In addition, I support her sentiments that people neglect responsibilities to clean the environment because of lack of knowledge, and as such, the government should come up with environment awareness campaigns in order to help the people understand the importance of a clean environment. The initiative should be supported by big multi-national companies.

Hello professor and class, In my own opinion, there is no privacy when it comes to the technology today. Any information you need to know can be accessed through google. Google gives much information. All you need is an internet connection. Moreover, we have additional payable sites that one can make payments to access the information interest. Personally, I think individuals should be held accountable for their actions outside the workplace depending with the occupation and position one is performing and holding respectively. In order for one to keep their positions, the need to handle their social life carefully. For instance, if you are a manger, you need to handle yourself with much caution to keep your position. Your behaviour should reflect what is exhibited on your online and social media platforms for there to be a continued trust in the position you hold. It’s true that there is no secret when it comes to social media and anything you share to the word might be used against you in one way or the other, this is because as you work your integrity when it comes to social media is highly valued and it tells the rest much about you. An experience of an employee in a uniform working for a certain company misbehaving and there is a caption of them shared on social media platform, they must be accountable of their own mistakes. I strongly believe that hiring and firing practices are fair with the new space in technology. Every company has expectations from the employees and if the company restricts use of smartphones or tablets and an employee decides to go against these rules, they are treated according to the rules. These helps employees abide by the rules and regulations to maximize productivity.

With respect to organizational health, as well as culture and values of an organization, all shareholders have a role to play in order to make sure that the organization remains together. The main of the employees towards an organization is to make sure that the organization remains at the top in terms of performance. Every organization has a set of rules and guidelines that it has laid in place, and it expects that employees adhere to these set of rules. An employee who respects the culture of the organization will no doubt respect these rules and obey them. It is also important to note that the world is ever changing and therefore at one point or the other, the rules and guidelines might not be applicable (Mike, 2019). Employees are supposed to be given an opportunity to voice out areas that they feel do not align with their interests. It is therefore the role of the organization to ensure that it has kept all lines of communication open and that it respects decisions the employees make. Employees are also supposed to use the tools and resources that the organization provides and propel the organization to better and consistent heights in terms of performance. The role of the organization is to provide these tools. In the event where the organization fails to provide these tools means that the employees will struggle to provide essential performance levels. The organizations should be wary of competing organization that are using newer technology (Mike, 2019). It is therefore the role of the organization through the help from its employees to research and also implement effective technology in order to remain in competition. I am a strong believer of equality when it becomes to the hiring process. I believe everyone with the correct qualities in terms of knowledge, skills and experience is able to deliver. Hiring managers are not supposed to look at the physical appearance before they can be sure the person is going to perform to the levels best for the organization. Most of us who have watched the voice often see the shock on the judges’ face. I think many applicants would have failed admission if judges had a fast look at them before their presentations. I am of the opinion that sometimes hiring managers develop an attitude towards certain applicants resulting to them being judgmental during the hiring process. However it is important to note that there are some industries that heavily rely on physical appearance during their hiring process. Industries like modelling and the beauty industry in general would need someone that is beautiful physically. These industries might require the individual to present themselves physically and the divisions can be made once they have passed the beauty contest. However when it comes to the matter of wages, it should not discriminate in any way. As long as people are doing the same kind of job and within a certain same job group, the wage should remain the same regardless of whether someone is male or female. The determining factor in terms of wages should be the results and performance from my point of view.

If I was a CEO of a company, there are several things to that I would do in order to make sure that my employees behave ethically. The first thing to do is to come up with a plan that can be implemented in the organization. In coming up with the plan, employees need to be educated and informed about ethics and how to behave within and outside the organization. It is also important to involve the employees in the decision making process. This is essential because employees tend to abide by rules that they are part of the formulation process. As a CEO is it also my role to ensure that all the rules are adhered to. To those that do not obey the code of ethics, I can come up with a disciplinary committee dedicated towards ensuring that discipline cases are punished. The code of ethics also shall be served to all employees so that they can be reminded of what is expected of them. They will be encouraged to ask questions and clarifications where they feel like they do not understand anything. Another thing that I can do is to make sure that I communicate to them on a constant basis. With communication the management can remain in close relationship with the employees and they will remain obedient to the code of ethics that are in place. Lastly, the business environment is always changing. It is therefore essential to make sure that the organization also changes the code of ethics in a manner that reflects the changes in the business environment. .
